Entry #83 – Bye bye 2010 :(

I’m going to miss 2010. For me it had more ups than downs. I’ve developed myself academically and attained a professional qualification. I’ve also grown spiritually. I’ve had a job promotion this year. I’ve had better luck with ‘relationships’ and I think I’ve begun to hear wedding bells in the distance. My parents and my sisters are in good health and are all happy…including my dog, Happy!

I wonder what 2011 holds. Will it be better? I can only pray so. I know one thing I’d really like to see – Nigeria becoming the prosperous and incorruptible country it is supposed to be…

I have a dream…that one day I will no longer hear the constant drone of 250KVA generators. 24hr power supply is possible and I believe it WILL be achieved. I have a dream that Okada riders will be a thing of the past and traffic will be a stranger to the Nigerian roads. I have a dream that one day representatives in the National House of Assembly will work hand in hand to move this country forward and enrich the pockets of every Nigerian citizen. I have a dream that Nigerians would no longer have to run abroad to attain qualifications but have the same recognized from schools within our locality. I have a dream that the term ‘419’, ‘Yahooze’ and ‘Corruption’ will no longer be synonymous with Nigeria. Bribes will be snubbed. Cheating will be expelled. Brown-nosing will be outlawed. I have a dream that all these will come to pass and this will start as we enter into 2011.

Arise, O compatriots,
Nigeria’s call obey
To serve our Fatherland
With love and strength and faith.
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain,
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
O God of creation,
Direct our noble cause;
Guide our Leaders right:
Help our Youth the truth to know,
In love and honesty to grow,
And living just and true,
Great lofty heights attain,
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.

Let the countdown to CHANGE begin! 😀

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
